11αι ἀγαθὸν καὶ ἰδίαι τοὺς ἀφικνουμ–
12ένους καὶ δημοσίαι καὶ νῦν καὶ ἐν τ–
13ῶι πρόσθεν χρόνωι καὶ αὐτὸς καὶ οἱ
14πρόγονοι αὐτοῦ, δεδόχθαι τῆι βουλ–

29βουλῆι, ἀναγράψ[αι δὲ τόδε τὸ ψήφισ]–
30μα τὸν γραμματ[έα τῆς βουλῆς ἐν ἀκρ]–
31οπόλει καὶ στῆσ[αι δέκα ἡμερῶν, εἰς]
32δὲ τὴν ἀναγραφὴ[ν τῆς στήλης δοῦνα]–

6Beschluss von Rat und Volk, Hiero-
7kleides S.d. Timostratos aus dem Demos Alopeke
8stellte den Antrag: Da Theogenes von Naukratis
9ein guter Mann ist gegenüber dem Volk
10der Athener und Gutes tut nach
11Kräften sowohl privat denjenigen, die
12kommen, als auch öffentlich in der Gegenwart und
13in der Vergangenheit, sowohl er selbst als auch
14seine Vorfahren, wolle beschließen der Rat:
15dass die Vorsitzenden, die ausgelost sein werden
16zum Vorsitz für die erste Volksversammlung,
17Theogenes einführen und über ihn verhandeln
18lassen und die Beschlussvorlage des Rates
19im Volk einbringen, wonach
20der Rat beschließt, dass Theogenes S.d.
21Xenokles aus Naukratis Proxenos und
22Wohltäter des Volkes der Athener sein soll,
23er selbst und seine Nachkommen; und dass
24ihm auch sei (das Recht zum) Erwerb eines Hauses; dass
25sich seiner annehmen die Generäle und
26der jeweils amtierende Rat.
II
27Hierokleides S.d. Timostratos aus dem Demos Alopeke
28stellte den Antrag: das andere, wie vom Rat (beantragt);
29dass ferner diesen Beschluss aufzeichne
30der Sekretär des Rates auf der Akropolis
31und dort aufstelle innerhalb von zehn Tagen; dass für
32die Aufzeichnung auf der Stele der Schatzmeister
33des Volkes gebe 20 Drachmen aus
34dem Dekret-Fonds des
35Volkes; dass man Theogenes belobige
36und ihn zum Festbankett in das Prytaneion

6The Council and the People decided.
7Hierokleides son of Timostratos of Alopeke
8proposed: since Theogenes of Naukratis
9is a good man with respect to the Athenian
10People and does what good is in his power,
11for those who come, both privately
12and publicly, both now and in
13time past, both himself and
14his ancestors, the Council shall decide:
15that the presiding committee allotted
16to preside at the next Assembly
17shall introduce Theogenes, and put
18his case on the agenda, and submit the opinion
19of the Council to the People, that it
20seems good to the Council, that Theogenes son of
21Xenokles of Naukratis be proxenos and
22benefactor of the Athenian People,
23both himself and his descendants; and he shall have
24right of ownership of a house;
25and the generals and the
26Council in office at any time shall take care of him.

27Hierokleides son of Timostratos of Alopeke
28proposed: in other respects as proposed
29by the Council, but the secretary of the
30Council shall inscribe this decree on the acropolis
31and stand it there within ten days; and
32the treasurer of the People shall give
3320 drachmas for inscribing the stele
34from the People’s fund for expenditure on decrees;
35and to praise Theogenes
36and invite him to hospitality in the
37city hall tomorrow.
